R & B Divas Atlanta Visit Germaine’s Luau

Lights, Camera, Action – The Divas Bring R & B to Germaine’s Lū`au Polynesian Showcase

Adding to all the usual excitement at a Germaine’s Luau’s Polynesian showcase was an evening with guests the R&B Divas. Hosted by Kalani Silva, the Divas arrived in all of their gorgeous glitz, glam and bling to film segments at the Germaine’s for their 3rd season of R&B Divas: Atlanta. A reality TV series airing on TV One, the show stars Monifah Carter (award-winning recording artist/songwriter), Syleena Johnson, Angie Stone, Keke Wyatt and original Destiny’s Child member LaTavia Robertson.

In the popular audience participation segment of the show, Kalani called Monifa Carter on stage to showcase her unique talents as a featured guest star. Monifa shared her special rhythm and blues and blues rendition to the beat of a Tahitian drum dance. When Germaine’s handsome male dancers surrounded her with the rhythm of aloha, the audience went wild.

The group received a Grammy nomination for their collaborative album R&B Divas in the Best R&B Album category. The charity album benefits the Whitney E. Houston Academy School of Creative & Performing Arts in Whitney Houston’s former New Jersey community.

Another highlight of the show was the closing when all of the Divas and their crew joined the audience in sharing the spirit of aloha in a sign-a-long to the famous composition, Aloha Oe. This song was written by Hawaii’s last reigning female monarch Queen Lili`uokalani in 1778 and was inspired by a farewell embrace to the then princess by a friend.

Monifa planned to marry while in Hawaii and we wish her warm aloha, best wishes and many blessings
